Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has added another feather to his cap, this time in the form of Guinness World Record, with the Spaniard finding himself a place in the 2019 Guinness World Records (GWR) annual for achieving 100 assists in the Premier League in the shortest amount of time.
The 31-year-old managed to achieve the feat in just 293 games which is 74 matches lesser than the previous holder of the record, Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs, who took 367 matches for the same feat.
Fabregas achieved the record way back in 2016 when he laid an assist for Willian to score during Chelsea's 4-2 win over Stoke City in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge. The midfielder while talking about the record also opened up on how lucky he was to train with legends at both Barcelona and Arsenal during his youth.
"I'm not the fastest, I'm not the strongest, I'm not the most flexible, I don't jump high. But to achieve this record in my career is one of the proudest things in my job, because it is my job and I did it well," Fabregas said as quoted by ESPN.
"In the middle of training, I'd just had my mouth open. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The first touches of Dennis Bergkamp, the finishing of Thierry Henry, the presence of Patrick Vieira, I was very fortunate," he added.
Considered as one of the finest players in his position, Fabregas has played for Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea so far in his career, making 640 appearances in total while also appearing 110 times for Spain with who he won one World Cup and two European Championship trophies.
