Incredible Lionel Messi Crosses 40 Goal Mark in a Calendar Year for the 10th Consecutive Season



​​FC Barcelona legend Lionel Messi proved to be crucial for his team yet again when he managed to score their ​equalising goal against Valencia in the La Liga on Sunday.


The Argentinian hitman has now scored 41 goals to date in 2018, which is also the 10th consecutive year in which Messi has crossed the 40 goal mark as a mixture of goals scored for club and country.

Messi scored his sixth goal in the La Liga this season on the weekend where he saved Barcelona from defeat, yet again.

Before this game, the 31-year-old footballing icon also grabbed a brace against Tottenham Hotspur last week in Barcelona's 4-2 Champions League win at Wembley.

Already on 41 goals, the modern-day footballing icon still has most of October and whole of November and December to add to this incredible tally for the calendar year.

The Barcelona forward has regularly crossed the 50 goal mark for the last decade and in one year, 2012, he went on to score an unbelievable 91 goals in a year.

Messi's genius has reached at such a stage now that with every passing game, the widely regarded greatest player of all time creates some or the other record that defies description.
