Virgil van Dijk Believes Matches Against Manchester United are Not the Biggest for Liverpool Anymore
Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk insists matches against Manchester United are no longer the most important Premier League game of the Reds' season.

Previous meetings between United and Liverpool were supposed to be the highlight of the Premier League calendar but since the Red Devils' insane fall from grace, past few clashes between these two clubs have been drab encounters with the Reds looking more likely to win.

And Van Dijk has agreed on the same as he intends to state that as a team, the United game is probably not a big one for the players but it is definitely huge for fans.

As reported by AS, on being asked about the clash against United while speaking to Sky Sports, Van Dijk said, "It's massive, but it's more massive for the fans."

He continued, "The big ones are [in] the Champions League and the ones that are hopefully going to win us the Premier League title."

Talking about United's problems yet again this season, Van Dijk said, "They're not in the best way, they're not fully confident and they're not in the situation they want to be in. But the good thing about football is you can bounce back in any game. They might think this is the best occasion to bounce back from it, but we know that. We want to go out and fight for every metre on the pitch and try to take the three points back to Liverpool."

Eight consecutive wins from the first eight games of the season have given Liverpool an unbelievable advantage in the race for the Premier League title as Manchester City faltered miserably at important junctures in the opening weeks.

The Premier League leaders will be looking to maintain their perfect win record in the season up till now when they face their eternal rivals at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
