Ramadan May End On Saturday, Eid-Day Should Be On Sunday : Saudi Astronomers
According to VERYCONCERN,A forecast by the Saudi astronomical figures show that it is difficult to see the new crescent of the month of Shawal (Sallah month) in the evening of Friday, the 29th day of the Ramadan.
The Saudi Gazette, revealed their prediction that the moon will set down before the sun on Friday, and therefore the Sallah day is Sunday, May 24, with 30 fasting days for Ramadan.
This information is according to a Saudi astronomical center at Majmaah University near the city of Riyadh.
The research center says: "According to the predictions published by the astronomers, the sun would set down at 6:39 pm and the moon at 6:26 pm on Friday. That means the moon would set down 13 minutes before sunset.
"On Saturday, the 30th of Ramadan, corresponding to May 23, the sunset will be at 6:40 pm and the crescent moon falls at 7:23, which means the month will remain for 43 minutes after sunset, ”according to the center.
On the other hand, Dr. Abdullah Al-Mosnad, a professor at Al-Qassim University, stressed that the moon will set down 10 minutes before the sunset on Friday in Mecca, therefore Sunday will be Eid-day with a 30-days Fasting for the month of Ramadan .
