Pastor Ize-Iyamu To Godwin Obaseki: You Broke Your Own COVID-19 Law
There was jubilation yesterday at Edo PDP Secretariat when Governor Godwin Obaseki was accorded a rousing reception at the party's Secretariat along 1st East Circular Road in Benin City, following his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He was received in good faith by the State Chairman of the party, Tony Azengbemi and was handed the party's flag and constitution.
The Governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has accused Governor Godwin Obaseki of breaking his own COVID-19 law enacted in the State to contain the spread of the disease as no social distancing was maintained.
This was due to the mammoth crowd at the State Secretariat of PDP and the aspirant accused him of disobeying the State's COVID-19 law and the guideline protocol of the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) during his defection rally yesterday.
This was contained in a statement released by his Director of Communication and Media, John Maiyaki.
He therefore urged NCDC to ensure that all those present at the rally in Edo State Secretariat of the party should be immediately isolated to avoid the spread of the virus.
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus has urged Governor Godwin Obaseki to see his defection into PDP as an act of God. The Governor of Edo State earlier defected into PDP on Saturday Afternoon, the 19th day of June, 2020.
