PDP Replies Wike Over His Utterances Concerning Obaseki's Defection Into The Party
Sequel to the utterances credited to the Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike, regarding the crisis rocking the Edo PDP, following Governor Godwin Obaseki's defection into the party, the national body of People's Democratic Party PDP, through it's National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbodiyan, has shed light on some grievances and utterances, expressed by the Rivers state Governor, over Obaseki's defection into the party.

It will be recalled that on Tuesday, the Rivers state Governor, had expressed his displeasure over alleged false accusations, that he masterminded the Federal High Court judgement, which earlier restrained Governor Godwin Obaseki from participating in the forthcoming June 25, Edo PDP Governorship Primary.

Moreover, the Rivers state Governor, went further to describe the NWC of the party, as "Tax Collectors", regarding the perceived preference being given to Obaseki, since his defection into the PDP.
However, while reacting to the South-South Governor's statements, the PDP headquarters, through it's National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbodiyan, in a Tweet on Tuesday night, said that, none of its members has acted like a "tax collector" in whatever meaning the term represents, either in the process leading to the Edo primary election, or any other state.

Kola Ologbodiyan, stated further that the brewing crisis in the party, is due to external forces, who are bent on sowing seeds of disunity and discord among members.

The Party, PDP, added that no member of its National Working Committee (NWC) sponsored any media publication to castigate and malign the person of Rivers State. VERYCONCERN reports.
