Kano Rapist bags 14 year jail time
A Kano High Court sitting at the Miller Road complex has sentenced one Abdullahi Magaji to 14 years imprisonment for raping a six year old girl.
The convicted man, who was a resident of Batakaye village in Kumbotso local government area of Kano state, appeared before the court in 2016 to respond to charges of rape.
The prosecution told the court that the convict lured the victim to an uncompleted building where he committed the illicit act.
He had acted in a manner that contravened the provisions of the Penal Code laws, the court heard.
The presiding judge, Justice Nasiru, held that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt, sentenced Abdullahi to 14 years in jail.
The court further ordered that the convict pays N200, 000 as compensation to the victim.
