The World Trade Centre building located in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja was on Monday gutted by fire.
According to an eyewitness report, the inferno started from the topmost part of the skyscraper which dots the skyline of Central Business District, Abuja.

The fire which occured in the midday prompted deployment of the FCT firefighters to the scene.

Mr Ibikun Adeogun, General Manager, world trade center, Ibikunle Adeogun who spoke to journalists  stated that, the fire did not damage anything in the center.

Correspondent Nnabuchi Okey Nnabuchi who visited the Trade Centre said the incident caused heavy  traffic jam on the Constitution Road, which connects the Central Business District to the International Airport Road.

Nnabuchi reports that plume of smoke from the burning skyscraper were seen all over the city.

Cause of the fire at the building is yet to be ascertained.

The World Trade Centre brand is global trade hubs which began in 1939 and has branches in more than 90 countries of the world including Nigeria.
