Tweeps Mourn Medical Doctor Killed In Abuja-Kaduna Train Terror Attack

Some tweeps are mourning the death of a medical doctor, Chinelo Megafu, who died from injuries sustained during the terror attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train late Monday.

Chinelo had tweeted during the attack, saying she had been shot and asked for prayers.

She tweeted, “I’m on the train. I have been shot. Please pray for me.”

A colleague of hers, Dr Michael Ajidahun better known as The Bearded Dr Sina on Twitter shared the sad news of her death.

He said, “My friend just woke up to losing a close friend who was shot at the Abuja Kaduna train incident by terrorists. She tweeted yesterday that we should pray for her. Sadly she didn't make it. She was a Doctor. Nigeria why...I'm heartbroken.”

Speaking with PUNCH Online, Dr Sina said that the victim died at the hospital where she was taken to.

He said, "She studied Dentistry. She was travelling in the Abuja-Kaduna train and had tweeted that she had been shot but some people thought she was tweeting for clout.

"A mutual friend, who is a doctor at the hospital where she was taken to confirmed she had died this morning."

Tweeps have expressed their grief at the death of the doctor.

Jamila Motunrayo tweeted, “The first tweet I saw this morning. May her soul Rest In Peace.”

Chance said, “She only asked for prayers. Prayers and what most could offer was abuses or calling her a liar. May her soul rest in peace.”

Cross tweeted, "Rest In Peace doc. Only God know the pain you were in while tweeting this. Nigeria happened again.”

Segun Precious said, “Rest in Peace, Chinelo. Nigeria happened to you!”

Jowo lamented how human life had ceased to have value in the country. She said, “The fact that human life is not worth more than a domestic animal these days, is a testament to how we've failed as a country and as a people. The news of death no longer hits as hard as it used to, it's become a norm these days. Rest in peace Chinelo.”

Dr Megafu, a Dental Surgeon, graduated from the University Of Port Harcourt in 2016.

Senator Stella Oduah Slams Obiano’s Wife Over Bianca Ojukwu’s Attack

Senator Stella Oduah Slams Obiano’s Wife Over Bianca Ojukwu’s Attack

Senator representing Anambra North, Stella Oduah, has bashed the former First Lady of Anambra, Ebelechukwu Obiano for attacking Bianca, the widow of the late Biafran warlord, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu.

The fight between Mrs Obiano and Ojukwu happened at the swearing-in of Professor Charles Soludo as governor of Anambra on Thursday.

Bashing Obiano, the senator on her official Twitter handle said, “I hereby condemn in strong terms, this unwarranted attack against the wife of an illustrious son and our very own Ikemba. I wish to add that the act exhibited by the former first lady was indecorous and unbecoming of a woman who had acted as a mother of the state and even desirous of serving in other capacities.

“More condemnable is even the gutter and vulgar language used by Mrs Obiano to describe her fellow woman, who is even a widow. I have always held the view that it is only weak minds that label hardworking women like Bianca with nasty names such as "ashawo"

“What the world witnessed today at the swearing-in ceremony is utterly disgraceful, unfortunate, crude and should never be emulated by the millions of our young girls and women who often look up to public figures with respect to how they conduct themselves.”

It should be noted that former governor Willie Obiano, has declared that his wife will be running for the senatorial seat of Anambra North, the same seat being occupied by Oduah.

Hushpuppi commits $400k fraud from inside US prison — journalist claims, citing new court document [SWIPE]

Hushpuppi commits $400k fraud from inside US prison — journalist claims, citing new court document [SWIPE]

Popular Instagram celebrity Hushpuppi has received fresh charges as US prosecutors submit court documents showing how he committed fraud and laundered over $400k from behind bars.

US prosecutors presented documents before the United States District Court of California on Wednesday with fresh evidence indicting Hushpuppi of committing fraud and money laundering in US Federal correctional facility. The court documents stated that Hushpuppi, while in US Federal correctional facility, participated in the purchase and laundering of Economic Impact Payment (EIP) debit cards fraudulently obtained from stolen data of US citizens and residents.

EIP are financial support offered by the US government to U.S residents according to the CARES Act. One of the ways eligible US residents receive their EIP is by debit cards. From the documents presented in court, it was found that hackers use data of US residents to file and obtain EIP debit cards. They sell off these EIP cards in underground marketplaces to other cyber criminals.

In the court document, US prosecutors mentioned that inmates are allowed access to phone calls, video calls, the internet, and computers with limited usage but they are not monitored because inmates have right to their privacy. Hushpuppi also received this access like other inmates.

However, between 28th Jan and 4th Mar 2022, security officers at the US Federal correctional facility, observed more usage of the internet by Hushpuppi. Knowing that Hushpuppi was arrested for internet  related crimes, they obtained a warrant to record Hushpuppi activities. A dedicated system was setup for him and his activities were recorded for 7 days.

It was found that Hushpuppi was actively buying EIP debit cards from an underground cyber criminal marketplace. While being recorded, Hushpuppi bought a total of 58 EIP debit cards with a total value of $429,800 on the site and laundered the money through one AJ.

Viral Video: Eatery Denies Firing Dancing Guards

Viral Video: Eatery Denies Firing Dancing Guards

The fast-food chain, Chicken Republic has denied firing two security guards, for dancing while at their duty posts.

The videos of the two young men doing a dance routine had gone viral on social media on Thursday amidst claims that they had been fired.

However, in a statement on its official Instagram page, the eatery said, it did no such thing, in fact, that the guards do not work for them.

Part of the statement read, “It is disappointing that some people may have the impression that the Chicken Republic fired these security guards for dancing in our stores, this is not true, and hence, we need to set the record straight.

“We take the safety and security of our customers, staff, and assets very seriously and as such, we outsource our security to various private security companies that specialise in such services. The two security guards in the video work for such a private security company.

“When the management of the private security company saw the two security guards dancing in the video, they had concerns that the security officers whilst dancing were not necessarily conducting their duties responsibly.

“We have followed up with the security company and they have assured us that the security guards have not been fired, have been paid their dues and have been offered some retraining.”

OFFICIAL| Statement from Roman Abramovich

I would like to address the speculation in media over the past few days in relation to my ownership of Chelsea FC. As I have stated before, I have always taken decisions with the Club’s best interest at heart. In the current situation, I have therefore taken the decision to sell the Club, as I believe this is in the best interest of the Club, the fans, the employees, as well as the Club’s sponsors and partners.

The sale of the Club will not be fast-tracked but will follow due process. I will not be asking for any loans to be repaid. This has never been about business nor money for me, but about pure passion for the game and Club. Moreover, I have instructed my team to set up a charitable foundation where all net proceeds from the sale will be donated. The foundation will be for the benefit of all victims of the war in Ukraine. This includes providing critical funds towards the urgent and immediate needs of victims, as well as supporting the long-term work of recovery.

Please know that this has been an incredibly difficult decision to make, and it pains me to part with the Club in this manner. However, I do believe this is in the best interest of the Club.

I hope that I will be able to visit Stamford Bridge one last time to say goodbye to all of you in person. It has been a privilege of a lifetime to be part of Chelsea FC and I am proud of all our joint achievements. Chelsea Football Club and its supporters will always be in my heart.

Thank you,

Roman
