Gov Dapo Mourns Late Ajumobi

Gov Dapo Mourns Late Ajumobi I am yet to come to terms with the passage of Senator Abiola Ajimobi, because this is one death that has inflicted not just a deep pain, but one that will linger for long. It is a loss of immeasurable proportions yet to be fully grasped. I have lost a great pillar of support who stood by me at my most trying times. The Ajimobi family has been deprived of a scion and someone who deepened the family’s proud legacy of service; Oyo State has lost a true pacesetter, and the rank of progressive politicians has been depleted.  Indeed, a colossus has taken a bow, an orchestra has been abruptly terminated and the curtains drawn on an era. Many had hoped this political titan would be back on his feet, making light of his brief illness with his admirable deployment of his signature wit, humour and prodigious intellect. But God had a different plan and as people of faith, we take solace in the knowledge that from Him we come and unto Him we shall return...

He was until his death the deputy national chairman (South) of the ruling All Progressives Congress. Below is Mr Tunji’s tribute in full which he published on his Facebook Page on Friday morning. Because it was a private flight, he had limited options. He only went with his...

Jamie Redknapp Likens Liverpool v Man City to Messi v Ronaldo Debate; Claims 'No Right Answer in Best Debate'

Jamie Redknapp has claimed that the debate as to which side can be considered the best, Liverpool or Manchester City, can be compared to the long-running Lionel Messi versus Cristiano Ronaldo argument. A star-studded City side have collected back-to-back Premier League crowns – with the 100-point mark reached in one of those – while also rewriting the history books with a treble triumph. However, this season, Jurgen Klopp's men are on the brink of capturing their first English title in 30 years and on course to break records recently set by the outgoing champions. Redknapp admitted there is no right answer to be found when picking between two brilliant options – much like the debate which sees a Barcelona icon compared to a Juventus superstar.  "They are both great to watch and a joy in their own right. Some like Ronaldo, some like Messi. It depends on the type of football you like" The former Liverpool midfielder told Sky Sports: "It's like the ...
