AVIATION: FG WILL NOT SELL AIRPORTS - AVIATION MINISTER

The concession of Nigeria's major airports is in an advanced stage, even as the country's airspace looks to reopen for international travel on 29 August.

Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika said it was important to opt for concession rather than an outright sale to keep Nigeria's critical assets and avoid the mistakes of the past as in the case of the sale of NITEL, among others.

VERYCONCERN reports that the Minister made this submission while appearing before the Senate Joint Committees on Finance and National Planning for its Public Hearing on the Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper.

Mr Sirika told the Senate Joint Committee that 29th August is scheduled for the resumption of international flights from the Abuja and Lagos International Airports, while a day later the Enugu Airport will be reopened.
