Buhari seeks Senate's confirmation of Yakubu as INEC chair



President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the Senate to confirm the appointment of Professor Mahmood Yakubua as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission for a second term in office.


Buhari’s request is contained in a letter read by Senate President, Ahmad Lawan on the floor of the Senate during Tuesday's plenary.


The President is seeking Senate's consideration and approval of his request for another five-year tenure for Yakubu.
