Oyo closes Shasha market indefinitely, imposes curfew
Following skirmishes in Shasha market under Akinyele Local Government Area of Ibadan, the Oyo State government has ordered the immediate closure of the market indefinitely.
Governor Seyi Makinde, gave the order to forestall breakdown of law and order in the area and equally imposed a curfew on Shasha and the market area.
The curfew is to run from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
The Governor warned residents of the affected area to go about their legitimate businesses peacefully, stating that anyone caught perpetrating violence will face the wrath of the law.
Recall that several houses and shops were burnt in the area following a clash between the Yoruba and Hausa traders in the market.
