Arsenal travel to Portugal to face Sporting Portugal in the group stage of the Europa League. The Gunners have won ten games on the trot, and are high confidence after they won their game against Leicester City on the weekend.
Sporting CP would not be easy opponents however, and Arsenal need to be on top of their game to continue their winning run.
Here are three things to look out for in the Sporting Portugal vs Arsenal game.
3. Light in defence
With both Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac out injured, It will be interesting to see who manager Unai Emery plays at left-back. He tried Stephan Lichtsteiner in that position twice already, and while the player looked uncomfortable there, he was not too shabby.
However, against Leicester, he was presumably tired as he was taken off at the hour mark, and Granit Xhaka was played there instead. Whether Emery will stick with Lichtsteiner or look for other options remains to be seen.
2. Battle for top spot
Sporting CP will not be easy opposition for Arsenal to just walk over. They also have won both games in the group and are level on points with the Gunners. Whoever comes out on top in the double-header will certainly be the winner of the group.
1. Winning run
Arsenal have now won 10 games on the bounce and will be looking to make it number 11. The wins have come in all competitions, including two in the Europa League and one in the League Cup. Although Sporting CP are no pushovers, Emery would expect them to make it 11, considering they have more firepower in attack.
