Research Reveals Cristiano Ronaldo is the Most Admired Sportsman of 2019

Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo has been announced as the most admired sports personality of the year 2019 as per a research conducted by YouGov.

YouGov put together lists of the most admired men and women in 2019, with over 42,000 people from 41 countries being consulted to assemble the names before the list was finalised in July this year.

And Ronaldo came out on top as the highest ranked sportsperson as he climbed three places to move seventh on the overall list, two places ahead of his eternal rival and this year's FIFA Player of the Year Lionel Messi. India's Primer Minister Narendra Modi is sixth on the list, one above Ronaldo.
Both Ronaldo and Messi have dominated world football for more than 10 years and as seen here, are more admired than the likes of United States President Donald Trump and Pope Francis.

Recently, Lionel Messi claimed FIFA's 'The Best' trophy and had voted for Cristiano Ronaldo as one of his top three best players whereas Ronaldo completely snubbed Messi in his choices.

Talking purely in terms of social media admiration, Cristiano Ronaldo recently topped Forbes' list of most valuable and popular athletes on social media with UFC great Conor McGregor being the only non-footballing athlete to make it to the top seven list.
