Interstate movement: federal government postponed resumption date for domestic flight
Nigerian are waiting with much expectation that federal government will give official order for interstate movement and reopening of domestic flight in the country.

But somehow, the outcome might be different from all expectations as the federal government postponed the resumption of domestic flight in the country.

The outbreak of COVID-19 in Nigeria which resulted in the ban on interstate movement and suspension of domestic flight has impacted negatively to the economy, as such every well-meaning Nigerians and businessmen are expectantly waiting for the ban to be lifted.

Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Digital/New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi via his Twitter handle on Thursday disclosed that the June 21 resumption of domestic flights in Nigeria is not feasible.

According to him, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) in a statement made it clear that the slated 21st of June for aviation reopening won’t materialize.

The statement reads “June 21 is not a feasible date to resume domestic air operations in Nigeria.

“We will not approve the resumption of flight operations until we confirm we are able to start in a safe, secure, organized and efficient manner.”

Making it clear that it’s safety first and as such the dates cannot be fixed until certain.

“We will only give the go-ahead for resumption of domestic flights when we are ready.

By the middle of next week we hope to submit a report through the Minister of Aviation to #PTFCOVID19, advising on a possible date for resumption.” – DG, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
