Lagos Set to Reopen Economy, Commences Register-To-Open Initiative

Lagos Set to Reopen Economy, Commences Register-To-Open Initiative
The Director-General, Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola has disclosed that the Commission is set to begin the Register-To-Open initiative of the State Government.

Speaking recently at a Press Conference organised to inform the general public about the State Government’s plan towards gradual reopening of the economy, Mojola declared that in line with the directives of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the guidelines towards reopening of the economy, especially Religious and Social centres have been developed and consultations are ongoing with all Stakeholders in partnership with the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.

He noted that upon registration, a verification process will be carried out to ensure adequate space management is put in place across the various centres to guarantee that social distancing, hygiene and safety measures are observed across all religious and social centres.

According to him, the Governor has set up a Committee, comprising of the representatives of the Ministries of Tourism, Arts and Culture; Home Affairs; Physical Planning and Urban Renewal; and Economic Planning and Budget, headed by the Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Engr. Tayo Bamgbose-Martins, to ensure that the process is seamless.

He stated that the Commission has also met with various Stakeholders in the Hospitality and Tourism sectors and will be engaging more Stakeholders in the coming weeks on the best approach to the gradual reopening of the economy and registration of entities within the various sectors.

Mojola assured that the process is not tedious and time-consuming and will consider all religious organisations, event centres, gyms, night clubs, bars, lounges, spars, cinemas and restaurants, among others.

The Director-General, however, reminded that the only way to combat the COVID-19 pandemic is through collective efforts, urging all stakeholders to cooperate with the Government by adhering to all safety guidelines issued by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the State Ministry of Health.

Buhari to decide schools, churches, mosques’ resumption – PTF

Buhari to decide schools, churches, mosques’ resumption – PTF
CHAIRMAN of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 (PTF) and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari would decide on the resumption date for schools, mosques and churches.

Mustapha who led the PTF team to submit its report to the President yesterday  said  the task force submitted the fourth interim report to the president and appraised him of progress made in the last two weeks.

With authorities in Kogi and Cross River states rejecting results of coronavirus tests by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 also disclosed that it was President Buhari who has the final say on efforts to ensure no state operates as an island in the fight to flatten the COVID-19 curve.

Mustapha stated this against the backdrop of  Kogi State rejecting two index cases of coronavirus reported by the NCDC last week Wednesday. Cross Rivers remains the only state that is COVID-19 free with allegations  that these two states have not cooperated with the NCDC in allowing unhindered tests on citizens and residents.

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) recently urged the Federal Government to direct, through the Presidential Task Force (PTF), an investigation into the coronavirus-free status of Kogi and Cross Rivers States

Mustapha said the refusal of the two states to cooperate with the NCDC came up during discussions with President Buhari.

“We are doing everything to ensure that the entire nation is on the same page with one response and it is very important that we realise that no state is an island unto itself, when you deal with public health matters. Whatever happens in a particular locality has the consequences of spilling off to other constituencies. That is the message that we’ll continue to drive in our pursuit of getting everybody to be on board and I can assure you that there’s no island that exists as far as COVID-19 is concerned in this country.

“We must integrate all responses from the different segments of the community and the state and have everybody to be on the same page. We will continue to pursue that and we must also ensure that it happens. I can assure about that,”said Mustapha.

On reopening of worship centres, Mustapha said the PTF was awaiting the directive from the President.

“We have made the appropriate recommendations. But you know that Mr. President is the only one that can take decisions in respect of that. In the framework, the states are sub-nationals; they have their own responsibilities too. So, it is in the exercise of those responsibilities that they met with religious bodies and agreed on the protocols and guidelines on how to open up. But in the framework of the national response, we are taking that into consideration,” he said.

RELATIONSHIP: OUR SEX LIFE IS POOR

OUR SEX LIFE IS POOR

The sex issues being experienced by many couples is not exactly a sex issue.

Unfortunately, many husbands believe when it's go time, lie down, penetrate, thrust and be out when done.

The problems raised by this approach are made worse when the wife also decides to keep quiet about it in the name of trying to be a "good wife".

The quality of sex is affected by the things you do while at it as well as the things you do while not at it.

For instance, sex with a husband who rarely makes the wife happy will not be as amazing as it can be.
I have heard several men also talk about it like it's a punishment tool for a wife they are not happy with. Go rough and make her feel pains through bruises from dry thrusts.

Take a second to think about what's just been said, and you know something is really wrong. The emotions are wrong.

Everything from empathy to care to attention to details etc matter in having an amazing time.

Indeed, there are people who'd tell you kissing is a waste of time. Caressing is off, just thrust and go.

Wife: If I talk he will suspect me of having an affair.

Suddenly you realise, sex is the least of their worries. There's communication and a lot more.

If you like an act or style but cannot say you like it as a wife, how do you expect the husband to know to do it again? If he leaves this to do things you don't like and you still nod on, how will you have it amazing?

In the end, you hear people talk about never experiencing an orgasm and you wonder how that even happens.

This is a major part of it.

The pleasuring is in the beautiful thoughts they have of you, the sexy mental image of you to follow, it is in the respectable way you treat the spouse, the care for the spouse, the attention to the spouse, the security you make them feel.

Beyond these, it is in the not so little, little things like the smell of you, the look of you, the feel of you, the sound of you including moans and gentle screams.

It is in the action taken and the manner of taking it. The gentle touch as desired, the rough pace when demanded in the heat of the moment.

Sex is a uniting, a binding with your spouse and more times than not, the things that make it amazing happen before and after the sex.

Aphrodisiac? Yes, you think of that and you will get results of sorts but in the log run, what it does is deny your body of discovering the erotic explosion it is capable of achieving. It's like making you pay for 2/100 so that you can forget the 99/100 you can get for free.

So, perhaps before you get yourself worried excessively over quick ejaculation, you should try to look at the state of affairs and the approach to the overall sexual system in place.

No smiles, no laughs, no plays, no deep talks, not too many things in common, dwindling attraction and we expect a cloud 9 ejaculation or orgasm? How will that happen?

How will a wife give her all when she's spending half the time imagining you thrust someone else?

These are serious issues affecting many of us. Hopefully, we can pick a thing or two from this that we need to work on.

LASEPA Supervises Safety Compliance Level at First Lagos Drive-In Concert

LASEPA Supervises Safety Compliance Level at First Lagos Drive-In Concert
Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), on Saturday, supervised the hosting of a premier and innovative drive-in concert in the State, organised by Lapazio Lifestyles and Entertainment Group at the Bay Lounge, Admiralty Way, Lekki.

The Concert, according to the Agency's General Manager, Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, was given the green light and adequately supervised for total compliance with all stipulated safety guidelines as the State government begins to ease the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown and safely reinvigorate the entertainment landscape after a long break.

She said “The drive-in concert event is globally accepted as a new model for hosting safe entertainment events. Lagos, being a prime destination of entertainment and leisure events in Africa, should not be left behind in this new trend that ensures that fans connect with their favourite musicians or idols without breaking COVID-19 safety and environmental regulations”.

“Society benefits from entertainment; it adds structure to our social lives. Our goal is to ensure that the entertainment world can operate in a safe and healthy environment to create lasting positive memories, as we adjust to the post COVID-19 lifestyle”, Fasawe explained.

The General Manager noted that though the event was successful, there is still room for improvement as the agency intends to do a thorough evaluation of the event and, subsequently come up with a more robust plan for the future while extending the scheme to other relevant sectors.
“Our goal is to support the entertainment sector, in tandem with outlined social distancing and environmental protocols, which will attract heavy sanction, if violated or defaulted flagrantly, to serve as a deterrent to others”, she asserted.

While describing the event as a test run for the new normal, Fasawe stressed that the success recorded with the event would be a win for all and a guide for future events in the State.

She reaffirmed that Lagos places a high premium on the lives of all its residents, thus, the need to adopt new approaches that safeguard the citizenry.

The event had about 50 vehicles in attendance parked in line with physical distancing guidelines recommended by the government and attendees were safely seated in their vehicles enjoying the tunes of popular musician Mayokun within the marked spaces.
It was supervised by officers of LASEPA Lekki Zonal Office, led by Yetunde Atoyebi, in line with the monitoring guidelines and mandate of the Agency.

COVID-19: Fayemi relaxes lockdown in Ekiti, orders Monday to Friday movement

COVID-19: Fayemi relaxes lockdown in Ekiti, orders Monday to Friday movement
Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has relaxed the lockdown in the state with residents now have opportunities to go about their businesses from Monday, June 1, 2020, to Friday from 6 am to 8 pm daily.

Fayemi, who disclosed this in a state-wide broadcast on Sunday evening, also revealed that consultations are underway to reopen religious worship centres, schools and big markets in the state.

Also with effect from Monday, public officers on Grade Level 8 and above are to resume for duty while those on Grade Level 7 and below are to remain at home till further notice.

The governor also stressed that the dusk-to-dawn curfew will resume daily at 8pm and will last till 5.59 am of the following morning.

The governor also announced that the state’s molecular laboratory will be commissioned on Monday to facilitate testing for COVID-19.

He said, “Commencing from tomorrow, June 1, 2020, Ekiti people will now be able to go about their daily activities from Monday to Friday, 6 am to 8 pm in the evening. For the avoidance of doubt, the dusk to dawn curfew will daily resume at 8 pm till 5: 59 am of the following morning.

“Ekiti State public officers on Grade Level 8 and above are to resume for duty from June 1, 2020, while those on Level 7 and below are to remain at home for now.”

Fayemi urged residents to give maximum support to the medical experts conducting the tests as modalities have been devised to ensure a seamless exercise.

“I therefore urge you to willingly submit yourselves for testing when the officials get to your neighbourhood.
“This also provides an opportunity for those who might have had symptoms associated with COVID-19 to freely come out for testing at no cost to them,” he said.

The governor in the broadcast also reiterated his earlier order that all Ekiti boundaries will remain on complete lockdown daily pending further review at the national level.

Speaking on the likelihood of resumption of public worship, Fayemi promised that religious centres will reopen “very soon” revealing that a committee will be engaging with religious organisations to fashion out a workable protocol.

The workable protocol, he said, will enable religious houses to reopen very soon without jeopardising the lives and health of worshippers.

On the fate of schools in Ekiti, the governor explained that efforts to reopen them are also ongoing “as the committee set up to appraise the protocols, resources, conditions and modalities for reopening has concluded its work.”

The governor also said government is considering reopening major markets to permanent shop owners, after the outcome of the engagement process that is ongoing on the relocation of roadside traders to available alternatives.
On when the state will be totally opened up its economy, Fayemi said, “Once the report of the random testing shows that we are safe generally, it would further give fillip to our confidence to fully open up our state and return to our normal way of life.”

He expressed delight that appreciable progress has been made in the fight against COVID-19 since the second wave of lockdown a month ago, partly in consonance with the national strategy to ban interstate movement, which makes the review of existing regulations necessary.

Fayemi disclosed that Ekiti has so far recorded 20 cases in all with 16 of the patients successfully treated and discharged with only two active cases left at the State Isolation Centre while two cases were lost.

He added that about 300 contact tracing were done with over 200 persons tested so far in the state.

The governor expressed gratitude to front line medical personnel, task force team, security agents, the COVID-19 Response Resource Mobilisation Committee and the general public.

He also appreciated the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) led by Alhaji Aliko Dangote for its contribution donation and the Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu-led National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) for its technical assistance

RRS ARRESTS MAN OVER NUDE PHOTOS OF SALAWA ABENI

RRS ARRESTS MAN OVER NUDE PHOTOS OF SALAWA ABENI
According to VERYCONCERN, The operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) has arrested a 19-year-old National Diploma holder of Yaba College of Technology, Lagos as the brain behind the blackmail of Queen Salawa Abeni with nude photographs.

The suspect, Olufowoke Oladunjoye Emmanuel, a resident of Brentfield Avenue, Peace Estate, Magboro, Ogun State, was picked up by the Decoy Team of Rapid Response Squad last week Thursday after three days of monitoring him.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu had in the wake of the attempt by an unknown individual to blackmail Alhaja Salawa Abeni sometime in April 2020, directed the Commander, Rapid Response Squad, DCP Olatunji Disu to fish out the suspect.

After technical diagnosis of the complaint, the Decoy Team narrowed down on the suspect few days later.
Sources close to the team disclosed that the suspect couldn’t be picked because of the prevalence of Covid 19.

The suspect in his statement to the police confessed to have been the mastermind behind the ploy to publish some nude pictures of Waka Queen in exchange for money, adding that he was alone in the scheme.

The suspect, a 2017/2018 Electrical Engineering student of Yabatech, disclosed that he saw the nude pictures in a memory card which he picked up on the floor in Yabatech sometime in November 2019.

He added that after downloading the nude photographs of Salawa Abeni on his phone, he picked up her mobile number from her Instagram page.

"On 1st of April, 2020, I chatted her up and also called her after sending few of the photos to her online.

My intention was to negotiate with her for few bucks and for me to destroy the photographs.

I thought everything was going on fine until the following day when I heard the news of the blackmail over the radio. I was with my mother. She was even cursing the blackmailer unknown to her that I was the brain behind it.
I immediately sneaked out, destroyed the memory card and threw my mobile phone and SIM card into nearby wetland in Magboro. Since then, I never mentioned it to anyone and called Madam Salawa Abeni about it again”, he disclosed.

Commenting on the arrest, CP Hakeem Odumosu stated that no individual would be allowed to commit a crime in Lagos from any State or escape to other States in Nigeria to evade arrest.

He advised guardians to monitor their wards, emphasizing that the internet is a fertile ground for opportunities but the State Command would not allow criminals use it as avenue to exploit law – abiding Lagosians.

Tension mounts in Kogi as COVID-19 row deepens

VERYCONCERN got the information that The Kogi State Government is unrelenting in disputing claims by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the family of a COVID-19 patient of the existence of the deadly virus in the state.
The family of Ahmad Ejibunu, the Chief Imam of Kabba, said in a statement that he tested positive for COVID-19 following a test at the National Hospital, Abuja.
He was referred to the hospital from the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Lokoja after he was initially taken to the Specialist Hospital in Kabba for what was thought to be flu.

Senator Dino Melaye said yesterday that he personally knows the man in question and had confirmed that his family was telling the truth about his status, but the state government would have none of that.
The Commissioner for Health, Saka Audu, said the state government would not accept what he described as fictitious cases.
He said the tests conducted on all the contacts of those who were said to have COVID-19 in the state turned out to be negative.

The Obatebise of Oweland, Chief Tai Ejibunu, had in a statement on Friday said Ahmad Ejibunu, the Chief Imam of Kabba, tested positive at the National Hospital, Abuja.
Ejibunu said the Kogi State Government should stop living in self denial.
According to him, the Chief Imam was first admitted at the Specialist Hospital in Kabba and later at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Lokoja, from where he was referred to the National Hospital where he was eventually tested.

“The family is concerned about the wellbeing of other Owe sons and daughters, and we wish to confirm that COVID-19 has found its way sadly into our community and the state.
“Therefore, there is no need for the Kogi State Government to deny the obvious.
“We would like to stress that the Chief Imam, of recent, had never ventured outside Kogi State by way of travelling outside the state. So, the ‘virus’ could have been contacted within.

Melaye: I know the patient
The former senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, weighed in on the side of the family of the Chief Imam yesterday, saying the statement on the health status of the religious leader was correct.
He said in a statement: “I want to announce that the COVID-19 case in Kogi is real and authentic and cannot understand why any responsible government will want to deny and invariably kill her citizens.
“One of the cases is from Kabba and the victim is personally known to me. I cannot be part of those who will play politics with the lives of my people.

“COVID-19 is real, but it is not a death sentence if handled early enough.
“Family members of the Kabba victim who got a referral to Abuja from the Federal Medical Centre in Lokoja and all those who had contact with him should please surrender themselves for a test so as to curtail the spread.
“The Kogi State Government must come down from her imaginary high horse and start contact tracing to help curtail the spread.

“It is illogical to think we will be free with our proximity to affected states.”
“God will hear our cry and heal our land. God bless Okun land! God bless Kogi West! God bless Kogi State.”
We would not accept fictitious cases, says Kogi govt
Responding to the claims, the Commissioner for Health, Audu, said evidence at the disposal of the state government showed that the state remained free of COVID-19.

He said that all the contacts of the index cases of COVID-19 in the state announced by the NCDC tested negative for the disease.
“One needs not dig deeper to see the handwriting clearly written on the wall at how desperate NCDC is to nail Kogi State with a COVID-19 case, and there is no telling how low they are willing to stoop to do so,” he said in a statement in Lokoja.
“They claim the patient was positive but hasn’t been taken to an isolation centre. As at this moment, he is still in the National Hospital.”

Audu said the doctor who first attended to the index case being cited said he (patient) had no “fever, cough or difficulty in breathing … the only complaint was that of general body weakness.”
Continuing, he said: “The doctor had no reason to refer the patient to the FMC Lokoja except on the insistence of the patient, because they felt he was not getting better.

“On reaching FMC on the 24th of May 2020, FMC claimed the patient was referred to them on account of one week history of fever, cough and difficulty in breathing with high suspicion of Covid-19; a claim the referring doctor has vehemently refuted.”
The commissioner said the state government had even planned to evacuate the Chief Imam from the National Hospital in Abuja and test him using a private molecular laboratory and the state’s rapid test kits, but “the patient eventually denied us the opportunity to get it done, citing fear of receiving punishment from the Federal Government (NCDC).”
He accused the NCDC of “manufacturing fictitious claims and attaching them to states.”

Besides, he said the centre has “consistently refused to support Kogi State in her fight against COVID-19.”
He said: “Despite the fact that we do not accept the fictitious cases, we have gone ahead to do contact tracing to identify all those who came in contact with them, tested them and they all came back negative.
‘They will be retested in the next 14 days post first contact’
“The normal NCDC protocol is to collect samples through the state ministries of health where an epid form (epidemiological form) will be filled by the state epidemiologist and a sample number called an epid number attached to accompany the sample to the laboratory for onward testing.

“In this case, who filled the form? Where is the sample’s epid number? Is it the FCT state epidemiologist that filled the form and took samples at the same time? If that is the case, then they should have recorded the cases for FCT and not bother us with their ruse.”
The commissioner had said on Friday that “Kogi State till this very moment is Covid-19 free.”
He added: “We have developed the full testing capacity and have conducted hundreds of tests so far, which have come back negative.

“We have also continued to insist that we will not be a party to any fictitious COVID-19 claims, which is why we do not recognise any COVID-19 test conducted by any Kogite outside the boundaries of the state, except those initiated by us.
“Any attempt to force us to announce a case of COVID-19 will be vehemently rejected.
“We are more than prepared to secure the life of our people and have no interest in playing politics with their health concerns.”
No controversy about confirmed cases—Ihekweazu
But NCDC Director General, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, said there was no dilemma in the two confirmed COVID-19 cases in Kogi State, insisting that the two cases are not controversial in any way.

His words: “There is actually no dilemma in the two confirmed COVID-19 cases. They followed absolutely normal practice.
“These were patients that were referred from a Federal Medical Centre in the state to the National Hospital, Abuja. This is a normal referral pathway when you have a case.
“The physicians in the National Hospital, Abuja, I don’t have any influence over the work that they do. They suspected COVID-19 based on the clinical symptoms of the patients.

“They asked for a test and the test came out positive. The individuals live in Kogi State.
“In public health, your public health response is based on where you live, because that is where your contacts are.
“So, this is not controversial in any way. Standard practice was followed.”
The Nation gathered that the leadership of the state chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) may meet the governor later this week over their safety in the face of the controversy.

An NMA source said: “We as medical practitioners are not unaware of the danger posed by this controversy. But most importantly, we are worried that politicians are playing politics with something as serious as COVID-19.
“Our members and other health workers across the state are worried and are currently confused following the refusal of the state to do contact tracing. We are not sleeping over the matter.

Bayern Goes 10 Points Clear With Big Win As Lewandowski Scores Twice

According to VERYCONCERN, Polish striker, Robert Lewandowski found the back of the net twice on Saturday as the league leaders blew away their visitors.

Bayern Munich continued their impressive campaign in the Bundesliga with a 5-0 win over Fortuna Dusseldorf. The win puts them 10 points clear of the chasing pack with Dortmund yet to play.

It was a successful day for Robert Lewandowski who scored a brace as he matched his personal goal haul tally for a single season, 43 overall.

Benjamin Pavard's ball was heading wide before Jorgensen diverted into his own net to open the scoring for Bayern. The lead was double through a corner, there was no such scuffle this time as Pavard headed in from close range.

Lewandowski then got in on the act, starting a wonderful move that culminated with him beating the goalkeeper. He was on target again, this time tapping in to take the scoreline to 4-0.

Alphonso Davies had the final say, beating a couple of Fortuna defenders before striking a wonderful effort past the goalkeeper.

The win gives the Bavarians a commanding lead at the top with just 5 games remaining.

In the other games, Shalke 04 fell to another defeat at home to Werder Bremen while Wolfsburg were beaten at home by Frankfurt.

Lagos: We’ll deploy buses to replace okada, tricycles in July

Lagos: We’ll deploy buses to replace okada, tricycles in July
The Lagos state government says buses with certain specifications will be deployed to replace okada, tricycles in some areas in the state.

On February 1, the state government enforced the restriction on commercial tricycles and motorcycles in 15 local councils.

Despite criticism against the government’s action, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of the state, said the decision will be sustained for safety reasons.

Speaking at a media briefing in Ikeja, the state capital, on Wednesday, Frederick Oladeinde, Lagos transportation commissioner, said more buses will be deployed by July to cushion effect of the ban.

He said the state government is working towards implementing a “first mile and last mile (FMLM) mobility solution” to help Lagosians navigate the state with ease.

Oladeinde also said the state government has sent bus specifications to potential manufacturers.

“Following the restriction of motorcycles and tricycles for commuter operations in some areas in the metropolis, the government is working on implementing a First Mile and Last Mile (FMLM) mobility solution,” he said.
“We have identified 285 last mile routes within the seven bus reform initiative zones across Lagos. We have developed bus specifications and shared same with potential bus manufacturers. We expect these to be rolled out in the next two months.”

The commissioner said the state government has completed Oshodi-Abule Egba bus rapid transit (BRT) corridor, while bus terminals in Agege, Ojota, Ajah, International Airport, Yaba and Oyingbo are at different stages of completion.

He said the administration has deployed more effective models to boost operations in the transportation sector of the state.

“The Ikeja bus terminal is now operational and currently serving three routes, which include Ikeja to Obalende, CMS and TBS, Ikeja to Iyana Ipaja and Ikeja to Ikorodu,” he said.

“In the last one year of this administration, there has been an improvement in the public transit system through the deployment of 200 high capacity buses to move Lagosians from one destination to the other on daily basis.

“During the year under review, more than 80,000 passengers were commuted daily and recently 10 million passengers was achieved in 10-month operation of the Lagos Bus Service Limited (LBSL).

“As this administration progresses, we must continue to pursue vigorously, within the timeframe and limited resources, the state’s vision of transforming Lagos into a smart city that is safe, secured, functional and productive.

“This administration has employed international best practice models and reforms for effective transformation of Lagos state.”
